Real basketball, not chaos
Footwork, ball handling, passing under pressure, reading defenses, help-side, spacing — the stuff that actually translates to middle school, high school, and beyond.
KilleenBasketball.com is a parent-run site supporting the Killeen Knicks (also known as the Knixx & Kixx) — a competitive youth basketball program training boys and girls from elementary through high school at Skyline Gym.
Like a lot of parents in Killeen, we tried several youth basketball programs — rec leagues, AAU teams, and different training programs — hoping to find a place where our daughter Emma could really grow.
Too often, the focus shifted away from the kids. The egos in the room became a major turnoff, especially when coaching started to feel more about the adults than about teaching real basketball — things like proper spacing, footwork, ball handling, defense, and how to be a great teammate.
When we found Coach Bobby at Skyline Gym and the Killeen Knicks, the energy matched perfectly and everything clicked. Emma is thriving in this environment. She finally has a coach who believes in the technical aspects of basketball — not just fancy moves — who holds players to a real standard while still keeping the gym fun, positive, and encouraging.
While my personal journey is with the girls side of the program, the Killeen Knicks train both boys and girls across elementary, middle, and high school levels.
The Killeen Knicks focus on teaching the game the right way — especially for girls and boys who are serious about improving, making school teams, or competing at a higher level. Coach Bobby has the experience and knowledge to help guide their path all the way to college.

Coach Bobby sets a high bar, but the gym stays supportive and family-friendly. Players learn to compete, communicate, and pick each other up.
Depending on age and level, players may compete in leagues, tournaments, and AAU events that help them grow through real game experience.
Exact times can shift around tournament schedules and gym availability, but most work happens at Skyline Gym in Killeen.
Please text to confirm current times — this is just to give you a feel for the rhythm of the program.
Ages and teams vary; some groups may practice together while others work in separate time slots based on level.
Since this is a parent-run site, the best way to connect is to reach out and ask about current teams, ages, and openings. From there, you can come watch or try a practice session.
Every player’s journey is different. The goal is to find the right fit — for your player and for the team.
